Bit of a trip just for an afternoons brew event. I don't have any camera's or Mic's so can't broadcast either. Not sure how much fun it would be to watch water boil, then mash sit, then wort boil, all over four or so hours anyways. Maybe more entertaining then watching paint dry but I wouldn't hold my breath on that. But you can attend in spirit. :) Will also be chcking to see if my porter is ready to drink. Seeing as it may have a higher ABV content then expected it may not be carbonated quite yet. But... because of the bottles I use I can just drop in some champagne yeast and close them up again and wait another week or so. Here's to hoping that it is carbonated and that it also came out the way I wanted. Either that or it is drain pourer. LOL Why I only do small batches.

Well... In todays world it is easier to be what/who you are then it used to be so really no need to be nervous about that other then just the normal nerves you get when joining/meeting new people. The important thing is to be at a minimum satisfied with what/who you are, don't let others define how you feel about that. Welcome to the family.

Been brewing 5/10 gallon batches with a friend at his house for about ~4 years now. Decided to do small expiramental batches at my apartment (why small batches... heh... not the most amount of room for "real" brewing.) a few months ago. It is fun and I break even between the ingredients versus actually buying the beer so technically I lost money on the deal when I bought all the applicable equipment but... I enjoy doing it and it "should" taste better then what you can find in the store. I did try the porter yesterday and while it was only room temperature and didn't quite come out how I wanted it at least had the smokey flavor and pleasant burn I was looking for. Oh.. and it was carbonated too so don't need to add champagne yeast and let it condition some more. And... back to the thread... We are greeting everyone I suppose but where exactly is the "meet" part (all right now... keep it out of the gutter... "but" you say, "the gutter is warm and friendly."). Anyways I digress: Hello everyone. Happy Sunday and to those who may be mothers - Happy Mothers Day!

I am just kind of bored this weekend. A three day weekend with nothing to do really other then brew beer (which I have already done) and drink beer and be on my computer for whatever. Don't socialize much outside work/home but someties I like to. Feel like it this weekend but don't like to just go to a bar and hangout unless I know someone and strip bars are kind of.... frustrating.

Bars aren't that expensive unless you go to those types. I usually enjoy dive bars because the burgers are better, at least in the Portland area they are. The foodie mentality around here hit the bar/pub scene several years ago. As for strip clubs at least they have live women to talk to. Better then virtual ones unless you have a camera/mic which I don't - I don't care for the virtual dynamic. Probably have to get a set soon simply because of the changing work dynamic. |
